Skin Aging and Sun |
Incidental sun exposure is the chief cause of skin ageing and skin damage. The older we get, the slower our immune system and our skin restoration process. Block rays with daily sun protection: wear Super City Block SPF 40 Oil Free Daily Face Protector or City Block Sheer SPF 15. |

Blemishes |
Freckles are mostly caused by too much exposure to the sun. We recommend sunscreen containing at least SPF 15 (use UV response facial sunscreen SPF30)and deep cleasning (such as exfoliating, scrubbing and turnaround lotions) to prevent freckles from breaking out. Alternatively, use concealers: first apply foundation, followed by powder. Prior to applying foundation, if necessary, use Concealer or Airbrush Concealer to cover skin imperfections. Any signs of itchiness or redness means that your skin is sensitive, in which case Exceptionally Soothing Cream should help. |

Can the sun aggravate broken capillaries (‘spider veins’)? |
These are tiny dilated blood vessels or capillaries, usually on face or legs. The sun can act as an aggravation, so too can wind, spicy foods, alcoholic drinks and temperature extremes. Protect with Continuous Coverage SPF 15. To minimise discolouration on the legs, try Body Quick Bronze Self-Tanner. |

How can I protect my child from the sun? |
Babies under 6 months: No sun or sun block. Infants need sunhats, shirts and plenty of shade. In the car: Baby wears a wide-brimmed hat. In the pushchair: use hood or cover with an umbrella. 6 months to 2 years: Limit protected sun exposure to (at most) half an hour daily. In the sun or on the beach use a creamy, fragrance-free sun block like UV-Response Face Cream 30. Always carry Lip/Eye SPF30,to touch up on lips, nose and ears. |

Cloudy Days |
Please note that the clouds do not lessen in any ways the harm UV rays do to human skins. For this reason, it is necessary to wear sun glasses to protect your eyes and wear sun protection, such as UV Reponse Face SPF30, to protect your skin. |

Skiing and Mountain Climbing |
The higher the altitude, the thinner the air and the less protection you have against the elements such as the sun and the wind. We recommend UV Response Face SPF30 or Weather Everything Cream to protect your skin. |

What should I do if I get sunburn? |
Sun Protection Tips: Start each season using Sun Protection with the highest appropriate SPF level. Apply liberally and evenly to skin 30minutes prior to sun exposure. An after-sun product such as After-Sun Rescue Balm can be used to help repair damage from UV exposure, soothe skin and reduce redness. For future sunbathing remember to stay sun smart. For lips, protect and add shine and colour with Superbalm Tinted Lip Treatments. |

Sun Protection |
Apply daily sun protection before dressing. If your body is hot and dry, it is an indication that your skin is dehydrated during the oil secretion process. The best solution on this occasion is Moisture Surge Extra. |

How can I protect my skin when swimming, scuba diving or wind surfing? |
Even when you are submerged in water, the sun's UV rays can reach you. Your waterproof solution: Easy-to-use spray-on Sun-Care Body Spray SPF15 or SPF30. Reapply frequently, and after every time you dry off with a towel. To protect from environmental damage with the most advanced daily moisturiser use Superdefense Triple Action Moisturiser. Bridges the evolution gap between your skin's natural defences and the demands of today's environment. |

Do I need a sunscreen everyday? |
Clinique's guiding dermatologists stress the need to wear a high SPF sunscreen every daylight hour, as incidental sun exposure (tanning without trying) is the chief cause of skin ageing and skin damage. Block rays with daily sun protection: Wear Super City Block SPF40. Wear alone or under makeup. |
